When she came to see me for consultation, she wanted to know if she was doing the right thing getting into a serious relationship with some guy. You see she has been married before, and it didn’t work, and I guess she didn’t want to make a mistake the second time.During Counseling, I found out that she had married her first husband due to fear, anxiety, and doubt. According to her, she didn’t love him, but felt she was getting too old at 28, and so she needed to get married as soon as possible. Well she got married, but the man she married wasn’t close to anything he said he was, he had lied about almost everything. She left him eventually, not long after marriage, and he died afterwards.

Now she believes it’s time she got married again. This time a woman, family friend was pushing her son to her, though both of them are not in the same continent, and she is older than him. She had to go all the way to visit him, so she can see how he is living over there, and get to know him better, (well I hear people do that a lot, I am not just sure it helps matters in most cases).

I didn’t think the set up was right. There was a piece of information I thought was still missing, and I felt if I could get to it, maybe I could really be of help, because in my opinion, I believed she was about to make another mistake, one that may cost her more than the first, because you see for every avoidable mistake we make, there are consequences.

I know she is a Christian and a worker in Church, but this Christian woman in my opinion seemed to be choosing men in her life to share very intimate part of her life without really consulting God. I know there are lots of women out there who do that, but that’s not a big deal, because those ones don’t know God, neither do they in their ignorance know what difference God can make in their lives,and so do not plan to have anything to do with God, but for a Child of God to make choices that pertain to life without really consulting and waiting on and for God, I thought that was VERY STRANGE!

Then I asked her why she was doing this without God, and she said that she had realized that God has been good to her in the area of career, and had always answered her prayer in that direction, but she realized that God doesn’t hear her in the area of relationships/marriage, so she decided to take that area of her life into her hands. She would go to God for other things, but will handle the aspect of Relationships by herself. When she said that, I realized why she has not made it in Marriage yet, because SHE HAD BOUGHT A LIE OF THE DEVIL, and had not cast down IMAGINATIONS, pulled down STRONGHOLDS, nor destroyed EVERY THOUGHT that exalted itself against the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. Satan had lied to her that God can meet some needs in her life, but cannot meet others, and once SHE BOUGHT THE LIE, she went down with it because that’s what lies do, LIES BRING US DOWN, while TRUTH LIFTS US UP, and cause us to walk on water, get fed by ravens, drink water from the rock, makes lions to become our security personnel, etc, etc.

Now before you condemn or find fault with her, don’t you do the same? Don’t you believe a lie of the devil that says God can only meet some of your needs and not ALL, despite His Promise to SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS!

Remember THOSE THAT PUT THEIR TRUST IN GOD, SHALL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME!
